Earlier today, you may have experienced spotty service or downtime. We sent out a quick notice while still working on resolving the issues. Passpack is now back up an running properly.
As promised, here’s a follow up with some additional information.
The issue – The database replication went into a loop, causing an excessive number of concurrent connections. At about 5:30 pm GMT, the databases started refusing connections from the web as they were busy handling the internal traffic created by the loop.
The fix – One server had to be restarted. This broke the loop and shut down the extraneous connections. You should have noticed Passpack go back up shortly thereafter.
Current status – Passpack is back up to full running speed. To our knowledge, no data has been lost, however, if you have any difficulties with your account, please let us know.
My deepest apologies for the inconvenience.
.

I’d also like to remind you that you can use Passpack Desktop and it’s Sync feature to make personal backups, and access them should you ever get stuck without a connection to Passpack. Downtime around here is rare, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
