There’s just 21 European companies among the 300 finalists selected for the 2008 Webware 100 Awards – with only a handful of those outside of the UK.*
Passpack has the honor of being the lone representative of the emerging Italian startup scene. That’s just one more reason to be proud.
As much as we’d love to be at the awards ceremony at the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco, we unfortunately won’t be able to make it. There’s this puddle called the Atlantic ocean that’s keeping us far from the festivities (sigh).
So though Passpack won’t get to wear its red carpet dress this year, we’ll certainly keep our fingers crossed and hope some of our fellow European finalists can make the trip:

Wow, for sure this must been a lot of work to gather the above information. Very insightful and interesting.
As of me, I have the strong feeling that none of the above mentioned sites will make the race. Maybe last.fm and joost in best case. The nominee list simply is cool but quite “unbalanced”.
Anyway good luck – especially for Passpack. May the force be with you.

Thank, it was fun going through and seeing everyone’s sites… sorting through the terms and conditions was a little tedious though, I’ll admit.
Good luck to you – will you be going to San Francisco for the Web2.0 Expo?
@tara
like you I have the “big blue” between me and San Francisco, and timeshift, and hotel bookings, and taxi fees, and bus tickets, and lot of work to do, and blablabla: No :).
